One of my favorite websites for researching master painters and their artwork is ArtRenewal.com.
It is such a great source of high resolution images for reference. I use it especially when searching for an image to paint at a street painting festival. They not only offer beautiful images but also artist bio's, related articles and news, salon competitions, new emerging artists, and much more.
