Street Painting in The Netherlands

My Bella Via image will be featured on the poster for the Internationaal Streetpaintfestival Domplein Utrecht in The Netherlands. That's me, in the center panel, with the image I painted in Valencia, CA several years back.
This poster will hang throughout the city of Utrecht for the event which will be held July 6-9th in honor of the cities churches and cathedrals. A team of 12 artists- 3 from the US, including myself and Julie Kirk, 3 from Holland, 3 from Germany, and 3 from Italy, will create Holland's largest street painting to date.
The painting will consists of 12 9x9 foot reproductions from Utrecht Caravaggisti that hang in the cities museums. The 12 panels will be connected by a cityscape that will stretch the full 100 or so feet of the mural.

The 57 Underground

I have been selected to exhibit some of my work
in a group show this June at The 57 Underground
in Pomona, CA.  I am not yet sure which of my
paintings were chosen but will know within the
next week or so.

Featured Painting

I was honored this year to be the 2006 Featured Artist at the Santa Barbara Street Painting Festival. 
This is there 20th anniversary!  I have been painting at this festival for the last 4 years now and it is one of my favorites.  It was the first in the US -brought here by Kathy Koury, the events coordinator, from Grazie, Italy.  Last year I was asked to paint an image in memory of Pope John Paul II  as the festival was soon after his death.

I have finally finished with my design for this years featured piece. It took me about two weeks to complete the design using elements from 5 different paintings and 3 photographs. I composed the painitng to be 12 by 16 feet. The theme is the History of Street Painting and the title of the piece is Allegory of Art: From Canvas to Asphalt. See it created Memorial weekend ...May 26 -29th at the Santa Barbara Mission.

Napa Street Painting Festival

I was honored to be invited as this years Featured Artist at the 2nd annual Napa Street Painting Festival. I painted in last years event and had a great time. I painted a painting called
"Bridesmaide" by Millais. I am still deciding on the image I will paint this year but I have to
make up my mind soon...May 19-21st
